I am a friend of the Twisters . The folks at Tornado Gallery. Like so many others , I have "chipped in " to make their little home on Buddy Holly Ave. work. I did it because I could see that their little home could be a bigger home for others. In the last 4 years it has become that and more.
Recently they have received a rather serious set back ...........
Art thieves touch down at Depot District's Tornado Gallery
After visiting with them , I have set-up this project to help them out . This set back came at a time they could ill afford . I am asking for you to chip in and donate just $10.00 to this effort . If I can get 299 more people to do the same, we can help them get back to the business of making Lubbock a better place to live, and repay the artists who were harmed by this theft. If you can help with a little more, that's fine.
Our goal is $3,000 in 39 days . If we make this goal , IndieGoGo will take a 4% cut. If we don't make it, they will take a 9% cut. Either way I will turn over all the proceeds from this fundraiser to my friends " The Twisters" .
I realize that times are tough, if you can't help with a donation , please help me spread the word, and pass this link along.

A reason to help from a fine story on the Art Walk in LA :
But it is not my purpose to recount the details, or distinguish the heroes from the bad players. No, it is simpler than that. The arc of the story is really what is most illuminating. Creative individuals make a difference to communities, launching initiatives that are galvanizing. The growing participation of many are beyond the control of the few. Original intentions take unpredictable twists and turns. But just as the train apparently goes off the tracks, creative vision and purpose driven determination translate into recovery. The players are there, right there in Downtown Los Angeles to accomplish that, and I think they will. And there are some small number among you in other locations who have or will start your own engines of change. Remember that it will not be easy, there will be setbacks in the very midst of the most exhilarating breakthroughs. Keep your focus on the creative integrity of art. It'll be OK.
